How the 3D capture works
Two capture paths depending on your phone. Either way, the output is a GLB 3D model that viewers can spin, zoom, and walk through.
Pick a capture path
iPhone 12 Pro or newer? Use on-device LiDAR via Apple RoomPlan — R 149, ~100 % margin, no cloud processing. Any other phone? Record a video walkthrough for R 99.
Capture the space
LiDAR: point the phone around each room, the app reconstructs in real time. Video path: walk a slow loop through every room, camera steady, 4–5 minutes total.
Processing
LiDAR exports as USDZ + GLB on-device (instant). Video goes to the dollhouse-worker Cloud Run service — Luma AI photogrammetry reconstructs in 5–15 minutes.
Viewers explore the model
Listing carries a 3D badge. Viewers tap through to a full-screen <model-viewer> component — rotate with drag, zoom with pinch, measure distances in the app.
