Liivra (Pty) Ltd ("Liivra", "we", "us") provides this disclosure in the interests of transparency. It explains our role when we connect you with home-loan (bond) finance, and your rights, in line with the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002 (FAIS).
1. Liivra is not a Financial Services Provider
Liivra is not a Financial Services Provider (FSP) as defined by FAIS, and we are not authorised to give you financial advice. Nothing on the Liivra Platform — including affordability estimates, bond calculators, or the AI finance assistant — is financial advice. These tools are informational only and are there to help you understand your options before you speak to a qualified provider.
2. What we actually do — referral only
With your explicit consent, Liivra refers you to registered, FSP-authorised bond originators who can advise you on and arrange home-loan finance. The originator, not Liivra, is the licensed provider: they assess your circumstances, give you advice, and deal directly with the banks on your behalf.
- We only share your information with an originator after you have opted in.
- You are under no obligation to use a bond originator we refer you to, or to accept any offer.
- You can decline a referral at any time, and you are free to arrange finance yourself or through any provider you choose.
3. How Liivra is paid
Liivra may earn a referral commission from a bond originator if your bond is disbursed. This does not increase what you pay — the originator's service is free to you, as bond origination is paid by the bank. This arrangement is disclosed to you before any referral is made, so you can make an informed decision.
4. Your rights
- Consent first. No referral happens without your explicit opt-in.
- No pressure. A referral is a convenience, never a requirement to use Liivra.
- The advice is theirs. Any financial advice comes from the FSP-authorised originator, who carries the FAIS obligations for that advice — including a record of advice and a suitability assessment.
- Questions or concerns? Contact us at support@liivra.com, or raise a formal complaint via our Complaints Process.
5. Related policies
- Privacy Policy and POPIA Statement — how we handle the personal information involved in a referral.
- Terms of Service — the terms that govern your use of Liivra.
This disclosure is provided for transparency and does not constitute financial, legal, or tax advice. For advice about a home loan, speak to an FSP-authorised bond originator or your bank.
