Pick your verification type
Tenants and buyers start with ID verification. Landlords and sellers can also verify property title via the Deeds Office. Agents get EAAB FFC register confirmation for free.
Live face-capture + document scan
Open the app, frame your face in the oval, hold steady for two seconds. Scan your SA ID document. Smile Identity does the rest — typical time under 30 seconds.
Background + credit checks (landlords only)
Landlords can pay R 399 per applicant to run TPN credit + employment + criminal. Results come back inline — no PDFs, no emailing attorneys.
Verified badge goes live
Badge shows on your profile, every listing, every chat thread, every offer. Listings with verified landlords see roughly 2× the inbound applications.

Face match + liveness
Smile Identity runs a live face-capture against SA Home Affairs records. No uploaded-photo tricks, no deepfakes.
ID + proof-of-address
Green ID, smart ID, or passport — all accepted. Proof-of-address checked against utility data, not just pinned on a form.
TPN credit score
SA’s Tenant Profile Network returns a score + payment history. Landlords see how this applicant has paid past landlords.
FICA-compliant log
The verification record is kept for 5 years per FIC Act retention rules. POPIA consent captured and revocable.
